I’m really not usually one to bother writing a review, but I just have to write a positive review on this frost cover. I start all my plants from seed to I am VERY protective of them and if you start from seed also, you will totally understand. It is hard work and you definitely don’t want your plants to die. I could go on and on about how much I love this cover but I will just say this, our winters are not as cold as some up North, but we do get into the low 20’s and my Kale, Spinach and most of my lettuces sailed right through those cold nights with much damage at all. For reference, I used this on my Leaf Planter and made sure I put this cover my planter before the sun set so it could warm a little before the temps started dropping and I made sure the bottom of the cover touched the ground all the way around. So, I HIGHLY recommend getting this cover if you like to grow during the winter. You will not regret it!
This is such an amazing cover! I wasn't going to buy one since the cost is higher than many on Amzn and we have mild winters in SC, but I'm so glad I did! We have already had 7+ nights in the early 30's (v.rare for us this time of year) and much prefer the GreenStalk frost cover to the others and feel like it's worth every penny. I agree with another reviewer in that I wish it would zip from the top down; otherwise, perfect!
These are very well made out of sturdy material. The zipper installation is flawless; the zipper works smoothly and easily. Excellent quality. I have now purchased 3 of them!
When I ordered this I thought it a bit pricey. But once I received it, realized it’s well worth the money. It is huge! Fits nicely over the Greenstalk supports on the top level. Nice zipper and very well made. It’s dropped as low as 19F this week so I added some extra coverings (tarp and a light blanket) over the frost cover. The frost cover protected the plants from damage when I add the additional layers. Then, when the sun hits the Greenstalk, even though it’s still at or a bit below freezing, I can remove the extra coverings and let the light in and keep the cold out. Highly recommend!
We recently dipped below 30 degrees F in South East Pennsylvania and the only seedlings that made it with out issue were the ones in my Greenstalk Original with the frost cover. This product is well made and durable.
